أجمل ابتسامة ... الجزء الأول: الكتاب

وقف بعيداً عنها، يسترق النظر إلى تفاصيلها. تبعثر الكتب من تراصفها، تقرأ عنواناً تلقيه جانباً كقشرة حلوى، تكمل التفتيش، تفتح عنوةً صدر كتاب، تسارع عيناها لقراءة السطور، ما بينهما، تبتسم مرات، وتهز كتفيها طوراً. جمعت فوق ذراعها أكثر من كتاب. لم تنتبه إلى فضول الرجل القابع خلفها على مضض، يده في جيبه، يخرجها ثم يعيدها وكأنه أضاع أجمل ابتساماته.

فجأة، لمحته، اقتربت نحوه، مسرعة، متلهفة كحجر يتدحرج إلى عمق الوادي. ارتبك، علّق على شقتيه آخر ما يتذكر من ابتساماته، وانتظر. حاذته، ابتعدت خطوتين، والتفت ناحية ناصية وضع فوقها مجموعات من كتاب واحد. تناولت كتاباً من المجموعة، وشرعت تقرأ، توسعت حدقتاها حتى كادتا تلتهمان الأوراق كالنار. أسقطت على الطاولة ما كانت تحمله وشرعت بالقراءة من الصفحة الأولى. اختارها لحظة مناسبة ليلفت أنظار الفتاة صوب وجوده كمنارة، وهي فرصة سانحة ليبدأ معها حديثاً يتساقط من أطراف سعة معرفته، اضطلاعه وثقافته في اللغة. 

بادرها كأنه يكمل حواراً سابقًا، "لا تقولي لي أنك تحبين جنون هذا الكاتب". لم تعره اهتماماً، وأكملت ما كانت تفعله بعد أن أشاحت بوجهها إلى الجهة المعاكسة. يعرف بأنه بهيّ الطلعة، ولا ترفضه النساء إلا في حالة واحدة، أنهن لم يرين وجهه بعد. اقترب منها حتى لامس كتفه ذراعها، رفعت رأسها إلى الأعلى، وانتظرت الرجل أن يقدم اعتذاراً يليق بامرأة.

"آسف" قال ولكن هذا الكاتب يصيبني بالغثيان. ضحكت وقالت "أنا أيضاً، يكره المرأة إلى ابعد حدود ورغم ذلك يكتب عنها أجمل الكلمات... نعم أكرهه، ولكنني أعشق قلمه، ليته بجمال كلماته".

- هذا إصدار جديد له.
- لم أعرف به قبل هذه اللحظة.
- كتابه السابق مات البطل فيه.
- نعم وهذا الجزء الثاني للرواية، كيف سيكمل أتحرق شوقاً لمعرفة ذلك.
- أرأيت قلت لكِ بأنه مجنون.

قال عبارته الأخيرة وضحك مبتعداً خطوة إلى الوراء يتأمل الفتاة تنظر إليه بعينين تمارسان العشق بعد انتظار طال.

قالت: "أراهن بأنه قبيح وبأنه عاش أيام دراسته يحصي أوراق الشجر المتساقط في ملعب المدرسة"...

وضعَت الكتاب جانباً، بحثَت عن آخر لم تمسه يد، وتوجهت لتدفع ثمنه بالقرب من الرجل الذي كان في تلك الأثناء يجبس دمعة ذكرى ظنها سالت منذ عشرين سنة.

قالت لها البائعة: "آنستي، اليوم يوم سعدك، الكاتب هنا إن أردت توقيعاً باسمك"... وأشارت ناحية الرجل الذي كان يضع يده في جيبه من جديد علّه يجد أجمل ابتسامة.

  5. This is too good that it hurts.. damn!!
    I forgot to breathe while reading that my heart contracted painfully to remind me about its existence!
    You just amaze me with your sensitivity to others' vibes.. your capability to decode the unspoken words..

    You knocked me into a semiconscious state that I still can't define if it's sweet or bitter!!

  11. now i feel that whatever i say or comment wont have a value and wont make sense next to this stunning story..
    I was living the story not just reading it.. imagined myself there.. one of them or watching them both from behind some shelves.. then "woke up" to dad calling me and saying "Jano, sa7?" and i said "kteer sa7" my sister was upset "keef sa7?!!" i said "yee sorry ma sme3et sho 7aketo??" <-- true story :)

    Now the dedication was yet another lovely surprise :) thanks ad el denya for both!

    I am afraid that if i keep reading your posts, I will end up with no tears for A Big Day and let me proudly tell you, your writings are worth it! Bitter and sweet, believe it or not while reading this post i felt like having the most beautiful smile chaperoned by tears, what a gift you have!
